Spyware, Malware and Viruses are the deadly trio which I deal with frequently. These cause problems such as poor performance, connectivity issues, pop-ups, and in extreme cases, the inability of the machine to perform at all. Restoring an infected PC to normal working state can be done by applying a series of anti-virus and anti-malware products in the correct sequence.
To ensure your system doesn't get infected, it's good to have an understanding of exactly what's going on. It is essential that you have a good anti-virus software installed on your PC BEFORE you connect to the Internet. There are a number of free versions available, but it's best to purchase one of the leading brands. They all cost around £25 - £30 and are worth the money.
As well as anti-virus software, you should also have good anti-malware software installed, there are a number of free ones available to download.
